Risan origins go to the ancient settlement of Rhizon, which is the oldest settlement in the Bay of Kotor. The whole town still has its original form as it was built. It is not like other places in Montenegro, which are rebuilt and modernly renovated, this place has its spirit. It is still original, and when you get there you feel like you are in the 15th or 16th century.

You can still see the old way of serving food, and the old way of living, it is around 2000 people there, and it is mixed. You can see people from Balkan, but also you can even see people living there from even other countries, like Russia.
