This is one of the extreme winters in Vuthaj, the winter lasts about 5-6 months in this place. People are getting ready for it even in the summer, it is known to place for very cold weather. Temperature can go from -5 to even -40 Celsius degrees, roads get blocked by the heavy snow and ice below them.

Sometimes people from the village can go without electricity for 2-3 days. They mostly use woods for heating, because of the conditions that can happen during this time. Food is very important to be stored even for months in advance, there are not many stores around, the first nearest store is in Gusinje, which is 7km from Vuthaj.
